9. Rahab. Somehow she was honored by being in the lineage of Jesus. Guess god likes prostitutes. Wonder if he gets a discount? [Joshua 2]
10. Tamar, a widow of Er and Onan plays the prostitute to get pregnant by her father-in-law Judah. Again this prostitute is honored by being in the lineage of Jesus and this is not only a prostitute but someone that commits incest [Genesis has 9 other instances of incest]. Guess it was god who said the family that plays together stays together. [Genesis 38]
11 & 12. Two mothers go to Solomon claiming that they are the mother of the newborn baby. Turns out both moms are prostitutes. [1 Kings 3]
13. Didn’t know where to put this since no names were mentioned but the bible made it clear they were women. In a scene that rivaled the first murder dreamed up by Quentin Tarantino in Hostel II and something out of the life of Elizabeth Báthory , when Ahab was killed a bunch of women prostitutes bathed in his blood. [1 Kings 22]

There have been prostitutes throughout history; the Bible covers a wide scope of history; it would be a bit weird if prostitutes were never mentioned like it was a taboo topic that we should pretend did not exist.
It would be a holier then thou attitude if the Bible presented the lineage of Jesus as all chaste virgins. It is true a man-made narrative may be tempted to not include such women in a lineage, but a truth that God honors the redemptive aspect of these women. God talks about prostitutes in the Bible as real people, focusing on the human element, not as just a disgraceful label as it is used in this list, and as people no more sinful then any of the rest of us. The story of Hosea is a beautiful metaphor that is not afraid of use the absurdity of a husband’s commitment toward an unfaithful prostitute as a metaphor for God’s love. Hard to claim the Bible as a prude book when it uses such an easily offending metaphor for God’s love.

I also would like to know what is the point of the list. And, I would like to thank you for taking the time for making up the list. I often come across things in the Bible that are socking to the moralist, but then I learnt to see the lesson (not the morale) of the story, and I am constantly hoping that I’d not miss the point of these Biblical illustrations in the heat of religious argument.

Oholah is a symbolic name used by Ezekiel to describe Samaria, and Oholibah for Jerusalem. The allegory was part of Ezekiel prophetic work to bring out repentance among Israelites of his day. So both was not human. {also number 2}
